Individuals – You must be present at check-in to receive your wristband. Parents and teachers may NOT check-in for dancers.

Groups – If you’re registered with a group of 10+ dancers your Group Leader will pick up bands for all dancers in their group at the Group Check-In Table.

Release & Waiver Form

You must have a signed Release & Waiver Form to participate at Nex•Us + Camp•Nex. If you are unsure if you agreed online, please download and fill out a form just in case. Participants without a signed Release & Waiver Form will not be allowed to check in. Groups of 10+ dancers must turn in their waivers before the event.

Observer Bands

Pre-registered observer bands can be picked up at the Observer Bands table. Bands will be sold onsite for the entire long weekend or for a single day, for cash only. The Nex•Hibition, Scholarship Ceremony and Camp•NexParent Show-Off are free to watch, no observer band necessary!

We invite teachers to come meet our Directors as discuss Nex•Us Culture and answer any questions you may have for your students or studio. Your suggestions and comments are very valuable and appreciated.

Off the Record

Group leaders and teachers are invited for this sit-down luncheon on Saturday with the Nex•Us and Camp•Nex Faculty.  This is an open floor forum and chance for you to connect on a casual, personal level with our faculty. Anyone interested in attending Off The Record must have an All Access Band or a Studio Management band. Must RSVP.

Teacher Class

Don’t miss this private class with one of the most respected and sought-after choreographers in the business today! This is a closed class - you must have an All Access band to enter.  These classes are one of the most talked about experiences of the weekend!

We invite parents to join our Directors for an open forum discussion and Q & A session. Ask any questions you may have about your dancers, your studio, Nex•Us and Camp•Nex, or the dance world. Feel free to ask any questions and give feedback.

Parent Show-Off

The Camp•Nex Parent Show-Off is an opportunity for dancers to show what they have learned over the weekend. There will be a short rehearsal prior to the show off for dancers to review. This rehearsal will be closed to all parents (including those with observer bands). Rehearsal will begin at 2:00PM, in which all parents will be asked to leave the room.

•SCHOLARSHIPS•

All registered participants are eligible for scholarships! Dancers may pick up a number during check-in. We do not have a traditional closed audition. Instead, the Faculty choose to reward dancers who catch their eye in classes- whether it’s recognizing technique, drive, style or enthusiasm. This process not only permits more class time, but also allows for a controlled, creative, casual atmosphere. We ask that you wear your scholarship number throughout the entire weekend so each faculty can get the chance to see you during your class performance! We will announce our winners at the Scholarship Ceremony on Sunday.

Registered groups of 5+ dancers have the opportunity to showcase their talents and perform on Friday afternoon in front of a panel of dance industry experts for a LIVE critique. Groups will perform to win a coveted spot in Saturday night’s show. 6 Finalists are selected to move on to re-perform and will work with these world-renowned choreographers for a 30-minute session throughout Friday/Saturday that will include a lighting visual package! The Faculty will then choose the 2 most talented groups to perform in a coveted spot at our Summer Finale Live Performance in Atlantic City for a chance to win the 2019 Title, which includes $200 OFF Registration for EACH DANCER in EVERY city for the 2019-2020 Season!

We invite all registered dancers to choose one routine of their choice (solo, duet, trio, quartets, small group, large group, line, or production) to perform, in in front of all Faculty, in the show on Saturday night. Each routine will be evaluated by our Faculty and will receive written critique.

Music

Music must be turned in BEFORE the event! Music may be uploaded online, by signing in to your account, or email directly to Julia@NexusOnTour.com. Be sure to have a back-up copy of your music should there be any issues on-site.  

Schedule

A tentative schedule will be emailed to performers one week before the event. A final schedule will be emailed out the Tuesday before the event.

•PAJAMA JAMM•

Join us Saturday night for Camp•Nex Pajama Jamm! Camp•Nex Staff will host games, contests, relays and more. Wear your favorite PJs and be ready to dance and have fun! Please be mindful when choosing your pajamas- remember you will be dancing!

Camp•Nex: Acting Workshop

This workshop includes script work, improvisational skills, movement, pace, timing and auditioning techniques, as well as feedback and a Q&A session. At the end of the Workshop, select students will be asked to participate in a scene to do LIVE during our Parent Showoff the next day!

CampNex Acting Workshop: Saturday, 4:00-6:00pm

NexUs: Acting for TV, Film and Stage

In this class you will learn the proper technique and protocol for working in this sometimes overwhelming and crazy industry. Get the tools you need to stay ahead. Get the information you need to stay relaxed. Classes will include improvisational work, movement, pace, timing, and auditioning techniques. All work will be done in a relaxed, fun environment.

Join us on for a Master Class with Matt Steffanina on Friday night 7:30-9:00pm in the Nex•Us Room!

Young Lions has always strived to bring the very best in education and opportunities that goes far beyond learning a combo - don't miss out on this amazing two hour workshop where Ian will tell a story through his art form and teach his Unique Urban Style of dance.

This event is too exciting not to capture on film! Our professional photographers and videographers will be onsite all weekend so be sure to check out the photos of yourselves to purchase.  We will provide photos and videos of our Nex•hibition as well as photos and videos from call.  We encourage you to capture photos and videos throughout the weekend to share socially as long as it is not disruptive to the shows or classroom.

EPS is a dedicated performer photography studio and will be offering Head Shots to NEX•US Miami attendees. Owner Jonathan Givens was a professional dancer for 20 years, and now focuses on creating images for the entertainment industry.  We operate the world’s only performer-dedicated photography studio, complete with sprung floors, Harlequin Marley, rigging points for aerial circus photography, and much more!  EPS offers Headshots, in-studio as well as on-location action sessions, and provides luxury packages and products hand-made in Italy and in the US.

• FACULTY PHOTOSHOOTS •

It can be difficult to catch the Faculty in between classes for photos, so we have designed a great system ensuring that all dancers can have a Nex•Us and Camp•Nex photo in a timely and organized fashion! These are the only times we will host a group photo session with the faculty throughout the workshop. In order for this opportunity to run smoothly, we ask that you abide by the procedure created by the staff and faculty. Camp•Nex Photoshoot will be Saturday immediately following the last class in the Camp•Nex Room. The Nex•Us Photoshoot will be Saturday night immediately following the Nex•Hibition.
